Farewell to Mark Hayden!

2010 is going to bring BacktoFrankBlack.com many things. But as it gives, it will take away.

We’re sad to announce that Mark Hayden, who has been on the campaign since we started it in late 2008, is stepping down from his campaign role.

Mark has done many great things for us. He started off merely as a liaison between myself and Graham Smith – who kindly offered to host BacktoFrankBlack.com. But anyone who knows Mark knows he never does anything by half. He came on board and pulled the local fans into the campaign with his left hand while regularly reporting and interviewing Millennium cast and crew with his right.

Mark has decided to call it a day after an intense year. It’s a hard job for everyone involved and I myself understand where he’s coming from. He loves the campaign, believes in it, but it can overwhelm! Mark will still be supporting BacktoFrankBlack.com and maintaining his Elder role at TIWWA forums.

Of course on a professional front, if you have any queries, comments, ideas, contacts, feedback etc to do with BacktoFrankBlack, make sure they come to myself, Jim McLean or my colleague Troy Foreman. We can be contacted separately at jim@backtofrankblack.com and troy@backtofrankblack.com – or through the group email at info@backtofrankblack.com.

Thanks again for Mark’s constant help and we wish him a year filled with missed sanity in 2010.

But myself and Troy are still going with you guys ably supporting. We’ve got some great stuff coming up, including Morgan and Wong week. Keep your comments coming in!

  3. "Let us go in; the fog is rising." – Emily Dickinson, her last words, 1886I never managed to understand how Mark was able to fit so much time and dedication maintaining the B2FB website, supporting the campaign, conducting interviews, contacting Millennium's cast and crew all into one day, as well as continuing to work full time whilst finding precious moments to enjoy life's opportunities and lead a quality and fulfilling life away from the internet.I will miss his creativity and his fantastic sense of humour in his articles and posts here at B2FB.Here's to Mark, one of the finest Millennium supporters and of course friends that I have had the distinct pleasure and honour to know.I wish Jim and Troy continued success with the awesome BackToFrankBlack campaign.Graham

  11. We should not let Mark Hayden's hard work the past year go unnoticed nor let it fall to the wayside. If you truly want to honor Mark, send those postcards NOW!Even though I now this is not Goodbye to All That for Mark, it's still hard to see him go. It's been nothing but a pleasure corresponding with Mark throughout the past year.I wish him all the best and hopefully this will steer him clear away from the Spotnitz Sanitarium, unlike poor Lara Means ;)Happy New Year Mark, and be good!- Jósef

  13. Well I am absolutely stunned. Mark wrote to me so long ago and featured my artwork at this very Blog which was so kind and he was afire with his love for this show and for his belief in what he and Jim and were doing. I know times change but something doesn't sit well with me. Is he OK? He lived and breathed Millennium?Anyhow, all the best Mark and thanks for everything and good luck to Troy and Jim. I will support this campaign through thick and thick and I know you guys will do a great job.

  15. What sad news but I don't want to detract from the new showrunners (good luck peeps) and I know they will do a great job as their podcasts are just amazing but even Frank Spotnitz espoused Mark's talents at a recent convention, he was full of him. Has he heard?

  18. Damit. Mark Hayden was one of the main reasons of why this website is my most visited in firefox (noticed that today). I did never come across someone as dedicated as him and throughout my years and experience with these type of websites, I doubt that it will have its continous updates and news streaming in.I was so impressed by Mark's contribution that I was about to hire him for a movie production that I am currently involved in.That being said, and please, no offence to any of the current maintainers, I which this campaign the best of luck and I hope that it will survive without Mark.

  20. It was with deep saddness that I read the email from Mark explaining why he was retiring from BTFB. He was the first correspondence I had with BTFB and it will be difficult to continue the march forward for Frank's Army without his guidance and those postcards that have become such a part of weekly life. I will miss you on the site but hold dear the thoughts that from time to time you will share your wisdom. Hope you find the time to relax and enjoy life and still look forward to meeting you ALL at a Millennium Movie in 2010!Keep up the good work Jim and Troy! This Is Who We Are!!Rhonda
