DiRT’s back with possibly one of his best reviews yet (myself and Troy were talking about this baby earlier – Troy is in love with this vid!). This review is of the quintessential Millennium episode, the dark, grisly “Pilot“. So what does DiRT thing? Here it is! Press play and find out!

  1. This was the awesome Dirt.I agree with what you said about the pilot needing to grab your attention, and certainly Chris Carter did just that with Millennium. Heck,it didn't just grab your attention,it grabbed you by the hair and shook your senses. If I remember, the wife and I sat there dumbfounded at the end.As for it being better than the X Files,I'll say it's a tie.

  3. This is probably my favorite review from you DiRT. I remember watching this when it premiered in 1996 and after the episode, just sitting there speechless. A tremendous piece of writing by Chris Carter and the cast was amazing in this episode. Great job DiRT.

  5. Lovely work. I agree very much for the quality and risks this pilot took, there was going to be sacrifices for such tenacity in audience figures. Burden and a blessing!

  6. My comment from YouTube:Now, I think it was really hinted at him being psychic in Dead Letters when he's writing down letters he saw before he walked into the crime scene in the beginning. By Walkabout, it's the first time is said being something that he didn't train himself for, like profiling. In a previous episode, Sacrament, it's hinted that Jordan my have visions of her own. So, it's not like it was so radical change by Season 2.Frank said he would become what we all fear the most, what we can only become in our heart of darkness. He did that, in the Season 2 premiere episode, that's why Catherine left him to think things out. Can't blame her, it's totally understandable. People just brush aside the fact Frank stepped over a certain line there, it's clear as day when you see that ugly scene in The Beginning and the End.Cheers from Iceland!- Jósef
